Figurative language pea

Shakespeare used figurative language to present horror and brutality in act 2 scene 4 in Titus Andronicus. It shows Marcus shock towards his nieces appearance. To show the shock he had now discovered. Marcus says ‘I knew thy heart and knew the beast , that I might rail at him, to ease my mind’. In this example it shows that the person who did this to his niece that is suffering pain he would want revenge on them. Shakespeare uses metaphor to describe how that seeing his niece with her hand and tongue cut off. The figurative language device metaphor shows how Marcus felt angered after being shocked seeing Lavinia. It exaggerate the anger he felt. Marcus language connect to Lavinia because she did not want to show her uncle her appearance because it would create a shock to both of them because she was ravished and brutally hurt already and producing more of an atmosphere of her fathers brother would make her more feared and shocked toward what was happening and even in Titus Andronicus there shocking stuff that happens creates such a tough atmosphere throughout the whole play. so it would be such a great thing exaggerating Marcus shock towards his niece in the play.

Kaiyum, this is a strong piece of analytical reading that demonstrates your understanding of the figurative language device you have selected.

It currently unlocks the discovery badge, but does not yet unlock the figure it out badge.

    Targets:

    1) Could you consider how this use of figurative language compares to other uses of language within the play? Are there any patterns?

    2) For this to unlock a ‘perfect paragraph’ writing badge, you will need to have a look at some of your sentence structures. Many are far too long and will need some re-wording after you have correctly punctuated them.

    Hi Kaiyum

I believe it does meet the criteria for the discovery badge. Well done.

Now could you develop your response to consider how this quotation campares to the figurative language in other moments within the play? Is there a connection? Or a contrast?

This will enable you to unlock your ‘figure it out’ badge.

I’m impressed by your work ethic, Kaiyum. Keep it up.
